Ning Xue Makeup Studio is the sole proprietorship of Ning Xue, a makeup artist based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, providing makeup services as well as website development services (Digital Beauty Solutions). This privacy policy describes what personal information we collect through the website ningmakeupstudio.com, how we use, store, and protect it, and what rights you have as a visitor or client.
This policy is developed in accordance with the requirements of PIPEDA (the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act), which governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information in the course of commercial activity in Canada.
By using this website, completing the contact form, or otherwise providing us with your personal information, you confirm that you have read this policy and agree to the terms of data collection and processing described herein. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not submit personal information through the website.
Information you provide directly. When you complete the contact form on the website to book a service or make a general inquiry, we receive the following information from you: first and last name, phone number, email address, anticipated event date, type of service requested (for example, bridal makeup, everyday makeup, lessons, or web development services), service location, number of people requiring the service, and any additional information you provide in the free-text message field — such as a description of your preferences, or information about a photographer or wedding planner, if relevant to your request.
We do not request or collect credit card information through the website, as payment (including the deposit) is accepted in cash at the in-person appointment or via E-Transfer (including online), and not through the website.
Automatic data collection. The website ningmakeupstudio.com does not use web analytics tools, advertising trackers, or visitor behaviour tracking systems. We do not collect information about which pages you visit, how much time you spend on the site, or where you came from, except for technical information automatically transmitted by your browser to any website (such as browser type), which we do not analyze or store separately.
Most pages of the site feature a link-button to Google Maps, which helps visitors find directions to the location where the service is provided (Ning Makeup Studio), if in-studio service is selected. Clicking this button takes the visitor to the Google Maps website or app — opening in a new browser tab on desktop, or in the Google Maps app on mobile devices. The homepage additionally features an embedded Google Map showing the studio's location. This embedded map is loaded directly from Google and may set its own cookies in your browser as soon as the homepage loads, governed by Google's privacy policy, which is not controlled by us.
Personal information you provide through the contact form is used solely for the following purposes: contacting you to confirm details of the requested service, clarifying date, time, and location of the appointment, answering your questions about services or pricing, and coordinating details related to website development if you request Digital Beauty Solutions services. We do not use your personal information to send marketing materials, promotional offers, or newsletters unless you have separately and explicitly consented to this.
We do not sell, rent, or disclose your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes. Your data may only be disclosed in cases expressly provided for under Canadian law — for example, in response to an official request from law enforcement in the course of a lawful investigation, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Ning Xue Makeup Studio or others.
We retain the personal information you provide for the period necessary to provide the requested service and for any subsequent related communication with you (for example, to confirm details of future appointments or for record-keeping purposes in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency requirements). We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information you provide from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. As Ning Xue Makeup Studio is a sole proprietorship without a separate data-processing staff, access to clients' personal information is held directly by Ning Xue.
Ning Xue Makeup Studio provides makeup services to clients under the age of 18, particularly in connection with events such as graduations and school functions. In such cases, prior consent from a parent or legal guardian of the minor client is required before the service is provided. We do not collect or request separate personal information from minor clients through the contact form without the involvement and consent of their parent or guardian during the booking process.
A cookie is a small text file that a website may store in your browser. The website ningmakeupstudio.com does not set cookies itself. However, the homepage includes an embedded Google Map, which is loaded directly from Google and may set its own cookies in your browser when the page loads, in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
